Walk Of Life - Yamaha Single Styles

This is a song by British rock band ‘Dire Straits’ and comes from their 5th studio album, ‘Brothers in Arms’. It was released as a single in 1985 and peaked at No.7 in the US charts. It was the band's biggest UK commercial hit, peaking at No.2.

The construct of the number is a simple rock and roll rhythm, with changes on chords I, IV & V. Its long introduction has become iconic and has an instantly recognisable melody played using a synth organ patch. The song lyrics mention "down in the tunnels, trying to make it pay", a reference to busking in the subway. It goes on to say the songs he plays are oldies, including "I Got a Woman", "Be-Bop-A-Lula", "What'd I Say", "My Sweet Lovin' Woman", and "Mack the Knife".

Other Dire Straights styles

This is a one-off single rhythm complete with intro's/endings/fills & variations written in the style of the song for Yamaha SFF instruments. (Please note this is not a song file - often referred to as a midi file - that refers to and plays only one song. Subject to the chords you play on your instrument this style can be used for many numbers of which Walk Of Life is just one).
