Written by Scott Joplin, “The Entertainer” is one of the classics of ragtime and carries a sub-title of "A Rag Time Two Step" (a form of dance popular until approx 1911).
Marvin Hamlisch adapted and orchestrated Joplin's music for the 1973 film “The Sting”, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score and Adaptation in 1974. His version of "The Entertainer" reached No.3 in the American Top 40 music chart and thanks to the film and its score, Joplin's work and name became appreciated in both the popular and classical music worlds.
This is a one off single rhythm complete with intro's/endings/fills & variations written in the style of the song for Korg SFF instruments. (Please note this is not a song file - often refered to as a midi file - that refers to and plays only one song. Subject to the chords you play on your instrument this style can be used for many numbers of which The Entertainer is just one).
