Many in the Technics world will be aware of John Romero. A professional musician since 1979, he was one of the founder writers for the TechPlus magazine. Written exclusively by John, the "Mega Style" range of software led to Carillon Studios being set up. The files contained on the disks fall into two main groups. 'General' those that can be used for almost any song in the genre of the written style and 'Dedicated' which are written in such a way as to make any given song sound as close as possible to the original without having to resort to a midi file. It should be noted that these files often need a specific variation for a given part (verse, chorus, etc). Use of the correct chord in the correct place can also often be essential. Each file contains a new intro, outro, fills and at least four variations (excluding KN1000, as four variations won't always fit into the memory), some files contain as many as twelve variations. The panel memories are set to step through the variations in the correct order for a suggested song and usually include one or two example sound setups for the instrument. "Mega Style 9" even has chord and control data on four of its files. Switch sequencer tracks 4 & 5 on, press play and you will hear exactly how we intended the song to be performed.
Please be aware instant download files are only available for instruments including and after KN3000. Owners of prior instruments will need to request their order on a floppy disk.
