The song was originally written & recorded by Jackie Edwards. However, it did not become a hit until recorded by The Spencer Davis Group. Chris Blackwell, who produced the recording, was trying to get his own ‘Island’ label established in the UK and was managing the Spencer Davis Group. He obtained funding from Scala Brown Associates for the single by offering a sizable share of his label as security. The success of the single meant that he was quickly able to repay the loan. It was a No.1 hit in the UK charts in January 1966, in the US it only reached number 76.
The Spencer Davis version was included in the soundtrack of the 1988 film “Buster” and was used during the film's opening sequence that saw "Buster Edwards" (Phil Collins) steal a suit from a shop window for a friend's funeral.
This is a one off single rhythm complete with intro's/endings/fills & variations written in the style of the song for Yamaha SFF instruments. (Please note this is not a song file - often refered to as a midi file - that refers to and plays only one song. Subject to the chords you play on your instrument this style can be used for many numbers of which Keep On Running is just one).
